So is it safe for me to say that I like the Amax/Scenars not so much for the increased BC, but the decreased BS I have to endure in load development?

I've been killing for several years now with the amax. If you know what you have, they work great. Don't treat em like an X though.

I'll be avoiding bone, that's for damn sure. I hear you about the decreased BS during load development, Calvin.

Trying to dial in a load again with the 140 NPs, and I couldn't manage anything that didn't look like an improved choke, while the old standby 162 A-Max load hangs 'em up a skosh bigger than .5 Minute, running 2830fps.

... which would have more.... dignity... if you didn't think bullets through at least as much as I do. And you KNOW that's true. I mean you guys who are out there flinging exotic bullets and building AI's, yet busting balls on other guys thinking things through, are pretty [bleep] phunny.

Dumbass.

My friend has a 308 and shoots the 168 Amax on they perform similar to the Bergers, they explode on the inside and have yet to see an exit wound on deer, but shots have to be in the lung area and avoid shoulder shots.

You do not get exits on deer with the 168gr AMAX fired from 308 Winchesters?

I have killed a lot of deer with that combo and have never caught one. Even on hard raking shots we get exits....
