Is a .22 caliber AI more AI'd than a .30 caliber AI, assuming use of the same case. How does one AI a .45-70? I got a .38-55 chambered ML cartridge BP bench gun. It shoots .40 caliber bullets. Is that considered "AI" or reverse AI?

If someone AI'ed the .45-70, you could use a carbide sizer die with it. It has just enough taper to need lube. Hmmm.

We could call it the .45-70 Disturbed....Carbide express??....

Disturbed it is!!

'Course, the bullets might fit a little loose, but that's been a life-long problem, anyway. (Speaking for myself)...

Just the question to get this going again!

1. Almost Improved
2. Actually Improved
3. Awesome Ingwe
4. Ackley Improved

It's multiple choice.

Didja know this thread is #7 in ranking for most views in the Campfire record? Just wait until I get ahold of my real computer. 'Slave might need medical attention. HA!

Question for those who have been to Africa. Ever see anyone ride a giraffe? If so, how do they mount it? Got pics?

Vic, I don't see why the bullets would be loose. It will need either a shoulder or bigger bullets, or maybe we could paper patch regular bullets for standard "Disturbed" loads. I like that approach myself. What's the case mouth ID gonna be on that sucker?

See it now, Raton on the 1,000 yard line with the .45-70 Disturbed AI. F'nA. Patch Money bullet over a triplex of Bullseye, RX7 and Swiss 1.5. Rock On!

Well, why don't we just go with a shoulder and keep the .458" bore? It would only be about .025" reduction in diameter, but the angle would be sharp in keeping with the AI spirit. You can tell them that it's for double secret headspacing.

Vic, ya got one of those programs I guess. What kind of numbers?

Gotta admit first thing I considered was the secret double headspace shoulder, but the Quigley in my soul took over. Rock on...
