Curious what those who have ordered one of the Shot Show .257 Featherweights are paying, or what prices you're seeing for these now that they are available in limited numbers. Mine arrived at my dealer last week.

I took mine to the range for the first time today. Very pleased. Used 100 NBT over 46 gr of IMR4350, got 1 1/4" groups, chrono'd at 2950 fps.

Here's a couple pictures of the stock on mine. Nothing fancy, but nice warm tone to the wood.

Anybody know these 257 FW's that are showing up now....are they a standard production gun that will stay in the M70 lineup? Or are they limited production?

They are a Shot Show Special. Production is restricted to orders that were received at the Shot Show.

Woodbeef, can you give me an exact weight on the rifle and your overall impressions. I saw them advertised and have been mulling it over in my ever fertile mind!

I really like these new Model 70s. I have two sporters one in 270 WSM,another in 30-06 that's being rechambered to 308 Norma Magnum, and now this featherweight. The fit, finish and feel of these are superior to the post 64 versions. So much better that I sold all of my post 64 Model 70s. The ones I have run the gamut from early ones(the 30-06 has the serial number EP'd on the bolt)to the newest ones. As for weight,it is lighter than the sporters. As for how much lighter? I'd say it's more than the 4oz listed on the Winchester site.

The pair that I had my LGS order at the Shot Show, finally showed up. Picked them up this afternoon. While the wood is nothing special on either of them, the one I actually took out of the box and inspected, was beautiful in all aspects of fit and finish. I am well satisfied, for the price. Still wish they had a Winchester trigger, instead of a Browning trigger! grin
