Looking to spend some trigger time with the Pre-64 M70. I like to wrap my forearm in a sling for stability. Can anyone point me toward an appropriate adjustable leather sling ? I took a quick look thru the "Rule Book", but, did not see pictures of the original factory slings.

Also, seems that someone here on the 'Fire was making them at one point. But I could not find a reference with my meager search capabilities. All help appreciated.

I have a buddy who swears by one called the "Montana sling". I think Cabelas might sell it. Its certainly not like an original, but meets the adjustable factor.

You can buy the Montana sling direct from Pat Sinclair, the inventor and manufacturer. Even cheaper than Cabela's.

Here is a factory sling on a Model 71. I have seen this sling on several 71's and a few 70's if you want to go original. These slings are available occasionally on ebay or GB.

Did this last night. Price was right. Website was well laid out. More clarity of the product in the pictures than some of the other websites. Thanks for the link...

Received the Montana Sling today. Put it on this evening. Looks good. Leather is a bit thicker than expected (stout). Will need to work it a little bit to loosen it up. But, all in all, very nice. Thanks for the recommendation.

Get the oil from Montana Slings (Sinclair Mfg)
One bottle is good for 2-3 slings.
2 coats per sling makes them absolutely excellent

Was just going to ask this very question... I have one Montana slings, and I almost like it as much as an M1907 for stability, and it's sure simpler and lighter, but man, they are STIFF when new!

I'll see about getting the oil from them and see if that makes it "let go" a little.

Thanks!
