I have been trying to decide which one to get. Both seem to get some positive reviews

http://swfa.com/Vortex-10x42-Razor-HD-Binocular-P51764.aspx

or

http://www.zen-ray.com/shop/binoculars/prime-hd/prime-hd-1042.html

I know the price is $1200 vs $619. But I am willing to spend more on image quality. I got conflicting report on whether Razor has field flattener or not. But the edge clarity is definitely high on my list.

It's your money obviously, but if I had $1200 to spend on binos it wouldn't be a Vortex anything. You can find one of the best binos made, a demo Zeiss FL, for about the same money. You can also find a Cabelas Meopta HD for $1000. Don't forget about a used/demo SLCneu from swaro for around $1200. If you can find a Leupold GR HD you'll find one of the very best, most underrated hunting binos made. They're tough to find, but worth the wait around $500 or so. Good luck, just my opinion.

I wouldn't even consider spending $1,200.00 on a Vortex Razor HD when you can buy Swarovski 10x42 EL's for even money:

If you're heart is set on Vortex Razor HD's, this looks like a pretty good deal ($635.00):

Everyone's eyes are different. Get both and compare them. I called one of Vortex dealer. They don't think Razor HD has field flattener glasses.

Agreed, i own the Primes and Swaro's and while the Primes are excellent in there price bracket they aren't Swarovski or Zeiss good! Close but, no!

I have both. My Razor HD is the original HD not the current one. The Prime quite frankly kicks the Razors butt.

Yes, I have tried the old style Razor HD. One barrel has some issues so I could not get sharp focus. I don't expect either of them to be Swarovski good.

The Prime is damned close.
