Had an opportunity to get to the range this morning. Temp was 30* and the wind calm. I rotated thru the 84L .270Win, the Extreme 300WSM and the 375.
I loaded up some 250gr Sierra Game Kings with a max load of Varget using Fed 215's to set it off. Got everything lined up after 2 shots. The first three to go on paper went into a perfect cloverleaf at one inch. Velocity was 2641 fps.

On the next rotation thru, I was going to try the same max load of Varget with a 260gr Partition. Again very nice groups at 100 yards at a speed of 2565fps.

The 200 yard target was next. I "walked up" two shots to figure the drop from 100 yards. The next three Partitions all lined up touching!

This is the fourth 375 H&H, two previous Winchesters and a Talkeetna that I have shot. All four shot beyond expectations.
These big slugs just chug along out there and really are impressive.

No pics cause invariably someone calls "cherry picking" and your results are statistically bogus. I know its "day one" but I have had many days with other rifles of the same persuasion.

The recoil was very tolerable on the bags and I look forward to some more testing.

Ed, 67gr of Varget has given me the same mid 2500's in 4 375's.

Sorry, I neglected to state that the scope was a 1.5-5x20 Leupy.

VX3? What do you think of it? I think I like mine...I just put it on my 375....Time in the field will be the deciding factor....

Is the 67 grs a max load out of some book or just what you worked up to and consider max fr the rifle? I was using 74 grs of RE15 in my KS 375 years ago with the 260 Partition and easily getting 2700 fps from it 22 1/2" barrel. I bet there is room if you desire it.

There is room but no real need. My 375 CZ shoots blow outs at 50 yds with the express sights off the bench opening up to 2" at 100. The groups about double off the sticks. I think the 375 H&H is inherently accurate. I do not need photos to accept your claims.

Agree with Randy...the 375H&H has always been known for its accuracy,and not being terribly fussy.

It may be the greatest BG hunting cartridge of all times...

JOC sure did like the 375 Holland and Holland. His exact words taken from the complete book of rifles and shotguns, "If I were going to hunt all over the world and could use only one rifle, it would be a 375". We all know it would also be the winchester model 70 (with CRF of course), that goes without saying.....

Back when I thought "the more kick the better" I fooled around with a number of .375 H&H's. I found it to be one of the most forgiving rounds ever. All my rifles were accurate with almost any load and usually exhibited little or no change in POI with different weight bullets at 100 yards. If I had to hunt everything with one rifle, it would be a .375 H&H.

If I had to hunt everything with one rifle, I would be saddened.

And it has to be one of the slickest feeding rounds from the magazine. My M-70 SS .375 H&H Express will feed empty cases from the box mag as fast as I can cycle the action. Can't say that for all rounds.

I got the idea of trying that trick and when the whole mag load of cases went thru the action like a hot knife thru butter, fast as I could cycle the action, I was actually surprised. I was expecting a burp or two, but there was none. Pretty amazing. Given what it can do with empty cases, one can have pretty good confidence that it'll handle loaded rounds as well.
