Some loctite had seeped in when mounting the scope and it locked the ejector slightly open. I soaked it in CLP, removed the slight deposit and it now works. That said, the spring on the ejector is pretty weak and even some debris might have had the same effect.
I will say that it now works perfect and the rifle shoots accurately- 0.54" at 100 yards with Federal Fusion 150 gr. ammo. The "Superformance GMX" ammo on the other hand is still resulting in very tight bold locking and 1.67" groups at 100 yards with .70" higher patterns.
