Actually, I spoke with Danny, Fletcher's dad, this afternoon about it. They knew that Fletcher had shot an extraordinary deer and they called the DNR before moving the animal from the kill site. Two DNR officers documented and photographed the buck in the field before they moved it.

What the hell is the matter with you anyway?

Mine either. Just another rifle kill as far as I'm concerned.

Why don't you show us a few of your impressive trophies?

Who says I have any? After all, I don't use a crossbow.

What I've killed has nothing to do with anything however.

I say congrats to the hunter! I cant stand crossbows for healthy folks, and really dont give a rats azz about records. But I see nothing illegal here. Again, congrats to the hunter...nice buck!

The problem with compound bows or crossbows is in the hands of a competent shooter they can almost match a rifle. My son-in-law practices at 100 yards. He killed a coyote at a lasered 89 yards with his bow.

What's up with this challenging a guy as long as it's legal?!

Crossbow, bow and arrow, pointed stick, or the front of a pickup. Either way that's a nice deer.

With a crossbow, you often don't have to move enough to attract attention and can shoot through small holes in blinds with a definite advantage in accuracy. Try drawing a bow without being seen. Even from a tree stand in areas where deer have been hunted from above it's difficult not being busted. Sit on 25 ft high feed bins in flat brush country and they will often bust your skylight movement drawing a vertical bow even when they haven't been exposed to it.

Still, an almost unbelievable trophy if taken on normal hunting property.

I had a lease in Worth county for many yrs, lotta big bucks in that county. Whitetail were brought into Worth county from Wisconsin during the 1950's if not mistaken. Most surrounding counties were a Texas strain whitetail.

That's one hell of a Rack.

Aren't you lucky, you got them anyway. And for free even.

If it is a Boone and Crockett World Record, I'm impressed as hell. It's, for sure, a great buck. But as a hunt goes, nope, crossbows are just another firearm in my opinion. Handguns (real ones, not 40-x bipod "handguns") would be more challenging than a crossbow.

Shot over a feeder doesn't cut it for me either.

If you feel different, well good for you.

Pretty much everything you say has nothing to do with anything either, neither is it constructive or informative.

When I kill a buck, I'm not thinking about how I killed it. And don't give a chit. Hell if a B&C buck steps out in front of my ATV... I'm going full throttle. smile A kill is a kill and that's definetely a good kill.
