I bought, what seems to be,the cheaper old redfield peep sight for my old 94. For elevation it has a screw with a knurled head you loosen and adjust. That screw is under sized, making it impossible to tighten enough. Nothing is stripped - did redfield make different sizes? NEED HELP Jeff

Those sights had a thin rectangular steel shim that went between the thumbscrew and elevation slide, yours must be missing. The screw is hitting the sight base before getting tight on the elevation slide. Just cut a new shim from steel or brass shim stock the same width as the elevation slide, drill a hole for the thumbscrew to pass through, and you should be in business.
