I cant even legally shoot a pellet gun here in town and we are infested with non-native ( read that to mean unprotected) red fox squirrels.

So I bought a kind and gentle Havahart live catch trap. I catch them, take the out to the garage to " transition" for relocation ( to a pan of hot butter) and my score in the last month is Ingwe 6 Squirrels-0

I was planning on playin with the .223 today zeroing the new scope and what not but had to work. It's windy and cold anyway so now I'm home figure I'll hang here and then reload some 75 Amax.

I haven tried than on a squirrel yet, but it has plenty-o-experience on gophers and PDs. I expect the results on squirrels would be similar.....

I recall being in South Carolina and seeing the weirdest (to me) looking squirrels...they were black with a bit of white but mostly black....odd for a northern boy....vermin none the less!

Those black squirrels seemed a tad bigger than the grays I am accustomed to. We have red squirrels that are smallish and noisy as hell, flying squirrels and chipmunks up the arse!

Came up on a Bull, Cow, and Calf today. Only calf tags valid in the area. Ran down the skidder trail and hopped up on a knob to get a poke at the calf before it and the Cow [bleep] off into the green tops. Fixed 6 up and on an antlerless moose ready to send a 55 TTSX into it...couldnt tell if it was the old biitch or the calf.

Bull stood there like a [bleep].

Hunting IS stupid.
