That is one sweet little rifle in a highly useful chambering.

How many magazines does it come with? Have you fired it to be sure of the std chamber configuration?

someone tell me what a K hornet is. Can you shoot a standard hornet in it? The .22 K Hornet is an "improved" version of the .22 Hornet, with a blown out/sharper shoulder and minimum body taper for increased case capacity and increased performance. Typically, yes, you can fire standard .22 Hornet rounds in a K Hornet chamber.
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass. And I'm all out of bubblegum. I do tend to fit in well wherever I go in person. The campfire is the most outside exposure I get. No TV, no newspaper.

Comes with one magazine, yes, I have fired it, it is a tack driver, and yes, you can fire regular .22 Hornets in it, and it fire forms them to K's.
Safariman, I may consider some interesting trade, send me a PM.
Thanks,

PM sent with a LOT of trade bait options listed! I love the K Hornet AND Brno rifles. This one would be a mega cool little brother to my CZ550 in 416 Rigby.

Is this a factory K Hornet or done after market?

Great rifle. I have a couple of Brno Model 1 .22s that I hunt squirrels with. Great old world craftsmanship in the old Brnos.

Good luck with your sale. Very interesting post. Anyone know what the K stands for? It's been discussed and printed in very nearly every reloading manual published over the past 60 years or so.

K stands for Kilbourne. Lyle Kilbourne the originator of this particualr and most popular improved version of the 22 Hornet. Fire factory ammo or handloaded hornet ammo in the improved chamber and the cases are blwon out to be somewhat larger and straighter.

Thanks safariman. I will google him. I have been curious about it. As I get older, I will be looking for lighter kicking cartridges. I have retired my 7Mag in favor of a .280 but am looking for something even milder that will do the job on the smaller deer we have here and in SC. Right now, that is a .243 but I also will be seeing the shoulder surgeon soon, so am looking for the lightest effectual cartridge.

Any fast CF 22 with a Barnes 50-55gr TSX or TTSX bullet. That simple. 223 as probably a minimum, 22-250 and 220 Swift probably better. None of them kick, and with that deadly little Barnes pills they put a big hurt on medium sized game. At truly close range, though, I would not hesitiate to smack one with a 22 K Hornet.
Most likely though, simply going to the 80 or 85 gr TTSX/TSX bullet from Barnes in your 243 will be as near to a zero recoil rifle as you will need. A truly mild cartirdge in any guise and made better with the new bullets avaialble. And deadly out to 400 or a bit more.
