I have a Timney sitting on my bench right now that is destined to be installed in my pre '64 M/70 .35 Whelen. This is an early model that does not require the angle on the bolt cocking piece to be changed, later triggers do and it is one of the drawbacks to installing an aftermarket trigger. I have also had a Canjar trigger (non-set model) in a pre '64 .338 Magnum. Canjar triggers are no longer made and are pricey when found. They are however the premium aftermarket trigger. Model 70 triggers are a fine design and are capable of being adjusted to produce a very good trigger pull. It is a job for a professional gunsmith with the knowledge and experience to do the job properly.
