Does Jim Beam burn/charcoal their barrels,or is that just Jack Daniels?

Jim Beam puts it out, and it is what the name implies...the Devil's Cut. When whisky is put into the barrel to age, some evaporates, thats called the " Angel's Share" Another bit of it soaks into the charred oak barrel, thats called " The Devil's Cut"
They squeezed it out of the wood somehow...its a different, but pleasant taste... Most Bourbon makers do it that way..I dont know any that use old wine barrels....

Can't say I know of a Bourbon maker that used the wine barrels either, but I swear I read that some bought old wine barrels.

Dont get me wrong..I like the Single Barrel Jack, and Gentleman Jack too...but Im not that big of a sour mash fan. I can choke it down when times are tough....or its free  My sister lives in Ann Arbor MI...I can never get over how many festivals and schitt they have...trying to manufacture fun.....really lame schitt.

Right now I'm drinking Jack Daniels with Honey in my tea,no need for sugar and it taste good. Now I'll wait for the "gay" comments and to head it off....GFY.
