Never owned a 7x57 in my life time. I have the same hair line and glasses as the poobah, I think he may be my father...I didn't get any of his special powers though....

Did you make any burger out of it? I always wondered how that would be...
One of the best things I ever ate was Zebra burgers.... Yes,but IIRC it was so-so,killed that one Jan 1998,when my wife and I were married 5 months,so we used that meat.  Zebra burgers,well can't match that,but when going to the ranch we stopped at a resturant that had "monkey gland burgers" and NO did not try them. The meat from the Impala was GREAT but was not able to try Kudu or any of the others I killed.

Ive eaten it all, Kudu is good, Gemsbok is great, Sable was wonderful...only things I didnt care for were the Waterbuck, any kind of little bushbuck, Duiker,or Blue or Black wildebeest. Seems the the pretty ones taste the best.....

If a 7x57 kills elk, then a 7-08 will kill elk. Would a 7-08 Improved kill one deader?
Just curious.....(with a grin) It is moot, neither will do it with as much style as the 7x57. When you pull the trigger on a 7x57...bands play, dogs howl and pretty girls swoon. ...I kid you not....would I lie to you?
