New member from Alabama here. Look foward to digging through the different forums. Few questions: - Is a .223 big enough for deer? - Do black panthers exist? - Is hunting a high fence truly hunting?

assuming those are legitimate questions, this won't end well. I can only hope that ICOT is not an obama supporter.

223 is way overkill for deer and elk. The new black panthers exist mostly in Chicago and Philadelphia. No, the only real hunting is done when you chase a deer down while running barefoot and clubbing it with a rock.

1. I am not sure of the preferences of deer. I would imagine that, like us, there are those who feel that a .223 is adequate for anything that walks while others, again like us, who prefer to shoot something larger.
2. You weren't around in the sixties, were you? "Free Huey!"
3. While not sure of a number of things here, such as why anyone would want to pursue a fence of any kind as a sporting endeavor, if the taking of them is even legal anywhere, and whether they are hunted for consumption or for trophy purposes, I would imagine that whether or not it is really hunting would depend upon the manner in which the hunt is conducted.

What the hell do you shoot a high fence with? Is hunting a low fence really hunting?

The Mayans had it right. If youre going to predict the future, its best to aim far beyond your life expectancy, lest you wind up red-faced in a bunker overstocked with Spam and ammo.
