This question came up in another forum, and as a .250 disciple, I should do the research, but admit to laziness.
Any new rifles being chambered for the cartridge? (I would disqualify custom guns, and may have a hard time defending the "semi-custom" manufacturers as well).
FYI: the detractor used his premise of "no new guns being made except custom", as an indicator that the .250 is somehow not a very good cartridge.
Supply the lazy guy with some ammo to fire back. Thanks.

Savage chambers the Model 14 in the 250 Savage (American Classic series).

Yeah Savage lists their cartridge as chambered in 14 Classic & 16 Weather Warrior.
Of course the logic underlying the question is beyond stupid.... Just because a company is currently chmabering a round doesn't make it good or useful.... Look at the Wizzums, 450 Marlin, 308 Marlin, and 270 Win, just to name a few turds...

Can't understand why Winchester doesn't chamber the 250-3000 and 358Win in the new Model 70 Compact.

It'd be a natural for the .250. I did a .250AI on one a couple years ago. Dang near as good as it gets.

Well the 6mm's namely the 243 more or less killed the 250-3000. Its easy enough to get one, Savage chambers for it or did, a cheap route would be to take a .22-250 and have it re barreled. But the Best way is to have Mel Forbes build you a Model 20 NULA for you. It would be a modern version of the Savage 1920 that Larry Koller loved so much. Dakota Arms made a run of them, for youngsters and women.

Don't forget the Rugers. There are still some of the older blued RSIs on the market or you can get this new stainless one from lipsey's. Might have to look a little harder to find this Lipsey's .250-3000. I'm still waiting for Weatherby to bring out that .250-3000 whitetail deluxe on a MK V that was in their catalog many years ago. I don't think any ever made it into the stores.

I have one of the Savage 14 Classics that DJS mentioned and it is pretty nice looking rifle with a nice piece of wood. Has a nice compact variable scope and it is a tack driver like a lot of the Savage rifles. Not too bad on the old wallet either.
Also have one in .300 Savage but haven't shot it enough to wring it out.

all of the factory rifles have been mentioned here. In terms of cool factor, I think the Savage 1920 takes the cake. there isn't anything in current production quite like it. I settled for a current production model 16 weather warrior. I've shot it side-by-side with a .243. when they're both lobbing 100 g bullets, there's just not a huge amount of difference between them.
I sure like the .250, though. I think it is THE most pleasant to shoot little deer caliber I've ever used.
