wonder if much difference 110 grain 30 cal at 2400 vs 110 grain .277 cal at 2550!

You wonder with all the fanatics claiming one or the other is best how they are that much different from each other in sane standard pressure loads.

Probably about the difference between the 150's in the .270 and the .30-06 ......

The difference I see is the Blackout will take the same bolt as the 223/5.5, and the same magazine. 6.8 takes a different bolt. 300 BO is also better with a silencer. In a SHTF situation the 223 brass can be cut and formed into 300 BO.

I would go lighter in the 6.8, more like the 95TTSX or 85TSX. Either way make sure the expected impact velocities are within the predicted expansion thresholds.

I ran the 85TSX in some reduced .270 loads for my kids and it was a killer on pigs at only 2800fps, could not recover a bullet.

Dude, this is for hunting, I am looking at the .277/95 grain TSX. Barnes bullets says 32.5 grains of X-Terminator gets 2723 in a 16.5 inch barrel. Compare this to a Barnes 70 grain 5.56 at 2866 from a 20 inch test barrel....I bet it don't get 2700 from a 16.5 barrel.

Like I said at the beginning maybe 100 FPS difference at 110 grains, however it may be my imagination but the BO does not have many loads that use temperature insensitive powders. Someone correct me if I am wrong, I think a lot of the accurate powders are somewhat temperature sensitive.

I can't correct you powder wise but can say my memory still recalls 2520 being made by 3 different countries at one time and SO UNRELIABLE lot to lot to be same or close to same, that I"ve written off AA for ANY powder unless its my only choice

If you get an ARP upper you will get more like 2700 fps with the 110 if you reload.

Then there is the BC of that 110 gr 30 cal pill. Must be as short as it is wide.
