I'm thinking an STI 1911. With a 4" tube and full size frame. Get a rangefinder. Travis Ha! Or at least switch out the wide duplex so we don't have to hear about that next year...

Digi Dan- Other than accuracy have you seen a difference in the 22LR ammo used on hogs? If you need me to, I"ll pm you my USPS addy for the invite to bring my 10/22 down.

Generally speaking low velocity RN bullets penetrate the best. I popped a couple of pigs with short HVHP rounds and while the pigs died the bullets shattered when they struck vertebrae. CB shorts will punch thru and exit the neck on small/medium sized pigs. They will also fully penetrate the skull of a full grown pig on frontal shots. I've only taken 5 with the 10/22 using CCI SV. One bullet recovered which went thru a lot of bone on a broadside shot and stopped under the offside hide. It retained most of it's weight but mushroomed to over 2 calibers. Nice. I'm going to have to break down and get me a 22 CF soon. 22-6mm,22-6mm,22-6mm,not that I'm trying to influence your choice.  So you think I should get a 22-250? Smart a**,are you going to the Sierra Vista shindig? If so I'll bring my .22-6mm for you to shoot. This is a 6mm Remington necked down to .22 cal with no other changes. It is NOT FOR BLASTING AWAY AT PD'S!! , No, I wont be able to make it.

I took my new foxpro out this A.M.

I was able to scare the schit out of 8 deer.
