I'm sure the decision to cancel this show was made quite some time ago. It really won't hurt my feelings to see America Guns go away, either. The show's plot was lame, the prices quoted for each job were beyond ridiculous and many of the projects were cobbled together messes. The kid who did the engraving seemed to have real talent, though.

One thing I was thinking about today is I haven't seen any re-runs of Top Shot since Aurora.
The reality gun/shooting programs are toast on mainstream TV.

Shame if it took a crisis to kill off that show.
Ignorance must not be a fatal illness or that show would have quickly died.
That is one nasty looking piece of engraving. He should go back to practicing with Crayons.

if the show was making money and had minimum viewer/sponsor support, it would still be on the air. the decision to drop this show was made months ago, and had nothing to do with the ct shooting. purely a business decision imo.

We can keep Larry Root and all his idiotic blabber and user names on here, but we can't get Ralph back..... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over....

The success of a television series is down to how an audience reacts to its cast. Pawn Stars and Duck Dynasty both have likeable casts, great characters that the average viewer would like to hang out with. American Guns just wasn't quite there as far as the cast was concerned, and the double whammy was that the work they turned out really fell short of the mark. The difference, I suppose, between the hot rods built on American Hot Rod (the grand daddy of all these guy-oriented "build it"shows) and those turned out by the auto shop class at your local trade school.
