I've had a 336 Octagon in 30-30 tucked away and was wondering what they were going for nowadays.... Its in great shape with only a few boxes of ammo through it...Spent most of its life as a safe queen... I bought it from the original owner.

In excellent condition I would think at least $800 maybe a good bit more if you find a motivated buyer. They only made them for one year.
Always remember that you are unique, just like everyone else.

Depends on which one it is.Was it a Zane Gray or Century model??? Neither, the 336 Octagon was its own model and was rollmarked as such on the barrel. I have a beater 1894 Octagon and always thought it would be cool to have the sibling. I might be interested if the price were right.
Keep moving forward!

Octagons are 22" (same as ZG) with a straight stock and the end cap forearm. Micro groove barrels and supposedly made only in 1973, however mine and a few others that I have heard of, is on a '72 frame.
Minty ones are bringing crazy money- upwards from a grand. (That would not buy mine.). I forget the exact number made, but it was less than 2500. Jack

I'd be interested to know that too.

As a follow up, I saw where an Octagon sold a few days ago for $1200 and someone told me of one at $1400. There is one on GB with a scratch across the receiver, that was at $1000 a day or so ago.
Mine is minty. Since I don't need the cash right now, I think I will just keep it. My bride says that our guns are a lot better than money in the bank these days. Makes us both happy. Jack
