My .30-40 (left) and .45-70 (right), guarding an original Hepburn (not mine) in the center:
The .45-70, left, and the .22-250 in my avatar, right:
The .45-70 has really good figure, on both sides. It also seems to shoot well, though I have to admit you better hold on with maximum loads

Guess I'm both a single-shot slut and a wood slut.
Found some old pictures of a few of them that have lived with me.

That bottom Cooper is amazing.

I like looking at the pretty ones, but mine don't stay that way long!
In civilized surroundings:
270 WBY, bone stock except for an aftermarket set trigger. My 'smith can usually get a good trigger adjustment on a No.1, but this one wouldn't yield.
The barrel quality makes up for it though.

I like them with American influence. Some of the German Schuetzen stuff is so complicated with the humped stocks and extra pieces of steel hanging off in different places, I just can't find the beauty I do in a good old Sharps or Browning 78.
That is one great group of rifles Shrapnel. Friggin wonderful to see those. Is that an Angus laying there?
Yes that is!

10pointer, That is some pretty creative checkering. I've never seen anything like it. Who did it? I think I could really get to like something like that. The Stevens 43 is way too cool. I would love to have one of those.

!0-pointer, I'd also like to know who did your Ruger custom rifle, and what caliber it is. Engraver? Barrel? Don't just tease us, man!

Lee's 25-06 ruined me. Wish he'd post it. Me thinks I'm the only fan of the #3. (.358 Win)
