I did not enjoy the 450 No2 I fired built by my gunsmith friend for himself, a RH shooter and me being a LH shooter. The stock was wrong in the wrong places. Had the stock been right I think it would have been OK.
In second place is a SxS Stoeger 12 guage I used to hunt ducks with and loaded it up with slugs for deer. At 7 and somethig pounds the damned thing was too light for the recoil it generated. I shot a little doe with it at last light on a Halloween night of all things and damn if it didn't light up the forest right there on the edge of last shooting light!
I actually enjoy my all up 9lb Echols stocked M70 375 H&H by comparison!
The way life should be.

My TC Encore in 405 winchester. while sighting in the beast had to double check the scope eye relief . Have to be aware of stock crawling, opended the flesh above the eye twice. My friends won't shoot it. It is however very accurate and deadly on blacktail deer. Thinking i'll rescope it this year.

A friend of mine who has about the same amount of money as T. Boone Pickens had a really lightweight 7mmSTW made up. It was pretty bad. Worse than a .458 mag I had shot before.
Shotguns give me a different feel. While they might shove your shoulder/body back further they don't seem to have that sharp cross your eyes kick to them.

By my faulty memory
1) a "sporterized" 8mm Mauser 2) an older style Savage 110 in 30-06 3) Remington 700 LSS in 300 Ultra Mag

I cannot believe no one else was dumb enough to shoot the ramrod out of their muzzle loader. A couple weeks ago when in NM elk hunting we got a little long range shooting in. Two big ol boys hunting with me proclaimed they would pass shooting an elk if they had to shoot it with my 338RUM, and I think it is a pussycat. A TC encore with 150grs of 777 pellets and a 250 shockwave plus about a 10 oz aluminum ramrod will surely rock you.

12 GA 3 1/2 mag 338 RUM 375 Rum
Looking forward to the first two. Need to install the barrel and load my 870 MAGNUM to see the potential. I see the .338 RUM as possibly 'offensive'. Have the last one. OH, YEAH!

I'm with noharleyyet. A sight in session with a Weatherby 300 Vanguard synthetic stock. My shoulder was blue/purple/green for weeks. My dad's humpback A5 Browning always bruised my cheekbones for some reason. It just did not fit me well.

My hardest kicker is not a rifle it's a Mossberg 835 Ulti-Mag shootin 3.5" azz busters.......I don't consider any of My rifles hard kickers, My main hunting rifle is a Remington 700 XCR II .300 Win Mag and it barely kicks harder than My 30.06 XCR II...........Hb

I am not into a man thing about shooting heavy kickers but I have shot a few. About the worse for me was an old 06 springfield bolt with a metal butt plate. Blessings Don't laugh, but a friend had a savage 110 300 win mag that I worked up some 200 gr. elk loads for and that thing would make your eyes water and your trigger hand go numb let alone kill your shoulder after 2 shots....
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

VAHillbilly,
Spend the money on a Limbsaver recoil pad for that Mossberg, some of the best money I ever spent. Really tames the pounding.

6 lb NEF 12 gauge turkey shotgun, 3" turkey load. I couldn't keep from taking a step back when I shot it, there was that much push. it actually bruised my face. I don't have it anymore. Word. Friend's son had one during turkey season and was afraid to shoot it. I was gonna show him it did not kick too much and picked it up with my right hand, aimed it at the top of a big old yellow pine tree and pulled the trigger. It jammed my elbow down into my shoulder socket and my whole right side went numb. Thought I had a stroke. Limped inside the cabin and fell down.

Well I got some rather stiff slug loads and tried them out in my 870 slug bbl. Thank God they only came 5 to a box. As to rifles I have shot a .500 nito express and a 450/400 both had a bit of backup but neither was up to the 870. Wow that was miserable.

Screw that thing.. Only thing worse was a Baikal single-barrel 12 ga with 3 1/2" chambers.. A .460 Wby would be a pussycat next to that pos..

The 2nd worst was a #3 Ruger spittin 500gn slugs @ 2,000fps. Worst was same gun of the bench Always stood beside whoever wanted to shoot it & caught it before it hit the ground a few times Sold it when a bud said he saw a flash when he touched it off!

Worst times shooting was both w/ a Remington early auto 12 gauge. Once knocked myself out against an oak tree when I lit it off at a squirrel. Next time it slipped and bloodied my nose.

Handgun: A pals 6" S&W 29.
He was running lite loads through it, when he asked if I wanted to try it. I guess he thought it would be funny to put heavy mag hunting loads in it, before he handed it over...
It was like having a stick of dynamite go off in front of my face!! Damned near broke my wrist!
