Could someone give the year Marlin changed from the heavy to slim forearm. Also did the Glenfields ever have the heavy forearms. I like the look of the heavy style. Thanks charlie in TX

I was'nt aware that Marlin changed the forearm. I bought a 336 in 35 rem. last mounth and it feels and looks the same. However, I'm far from an expert. How far back are you going?

They have gone back and forth several times. They were the thinnest in the late 1960s and throughout the 1970s. They were the thickest in the 1940s and 1950s. They are intermediate now. Of course there are exceptions to this rule, but generally speaking.
