You got any O/U's or SxS? Are you more of a fowler or uplander or both? Ducks with dogs is pretty fun, without...not so much.
When I first started fowling, we didn't have a dog so that limited us big time. Also got sick of getting up at 3 or 4 in the morning on my days off to go sit and freeze my ass off! Bought a O/U 20 ga and went to strictly upland and never looked back. I like the 'proactive' aspect of it, and a light, handy 20 is a joy to walk around with all day, esp chasing those damn (but delicious) chukkars uphill...

Ace was there and bro it was friggin' awesome.

Guy down the row from me last week has a nice looking rifle - a sleek little custom mauser in light contoured english walnut stock w/ wrap around checkering and ebony fore-end and grip cap. We struck a conversation and when he say me eyeballing his rifle he handed it too me to look at it. When I got done eyeballing the wood, I didn't see a stamp and asked what caliber and he told me - 270....
