Was gonna go to the range today to do some load work and zeroing in of trusty ol' iron. Blowing 20 from the south, range oriented east to west. Don't shoot in wind like that 'cept out in Cody during competition. Phouc.
Thanks be to Jeeezus I only have a dozen guns that need attention. This chitt could last a friggin' lifetime. Zero, loads, upgrades, repairs, moulds, restoration...does it ever end? Hope not.
Got this old Rem. 513S that shoots in the 3's at 50 with Wolf MT that has had a variety of scopes on it. They always grated on my 'cause of the bell on both ends. There's a place for that, granted, but not on this gun. Swapped out the K2.5 (El Paso) from the 10/22 yesterday and put the Jap Weaver RF 4X on the POS 10/22 and the legendary K2.5 on the 513S. Dayum, it do look like a real rifle now. After 50 years. Finally.
Also bore sighted the Model 54 with the Targetspot in expectation of fire forming today. Will have to wait I guess.
I really like that pic of the dark 'yote with the parted skull. Classic art that. Saw a guy once across the big pond that had caught a 2.75" FFAR in the navel with similar results. Lesson there is don't take an AK to a rocket fight.
