Yes. I have been doing a lot of studying on the matter while I attempt to gather the shekels to buy a Sharps.

I want to correct the title of the book I was speaking to Mickey about, it is "The Practical (not perfect) Paper Patched Bullet" by Paul Matthews.

It explains his findings on BHN and paper patching.

I am now looking at several bullet molds for .30 cal and .45 cal PP bullets as I would like to try it.

I seem to recall reading that paper patched bullets tend to be a bit abrasive to bore. Anybody ever heard similar or to the contrary?

I use Rooster Jacket on the bullet after it is patched. I would imagine teflon spray or a floor wax would work also. The paper is Strathmore with high rag content. As to Softness, I stick with 30:1, (lead / tin). It expands well on moose and bear at 200 yds. and under.

have never seen that to be the case, but then I also lube the patching with a liquid made with Lee Alox, Johnsons paste wax and mineral spirits

depends on the paper you use as to how rough it can be.

Whatever you are willing to put up with, is exactly what you will have.

When your ship comes in. ... make sure you are willing to unload it.

PAYPAL, sucks and I will never use them again. I recommend you do the same.
