Fireball2, I have one like that (carbine 25-20) and it has sling eyes the same as pictured, I was thinking they might be factory.

Well, you could be right, or maybe they were what was available for that time period so that's what made it on there. Front one would have had to have been drilled and tapped to the tube hanger. Do you shoot yours much?

Boltmans also has the same sling eye's, as does this one that is pictured on Remingtons web site - Model-25 BJW, does yours have a rear sight like the one pictured? From my understanding it was the standard sight on the carbine at least for awhile; it is a base with sides that has a standard sight like the one on Boltman's rifle mounted in the base. Here's another that shows the special rear sight better (also the same sling mounts) - MODEL_25_CARBINE I have owned two of the rifles versions in 25-20 & still have one, the carbines are very hard to find.

There were three 25 carbines at the Syracuse show last April....two were sold before the doors opened.

Actually I've never shot it, I got it on a trade and though I like it I've just never got around to it, maybe this summer. Gene: yes mine has a little sight held on with one screw and side wings that stick up to protect it (best way I can describe it)

The Rem 25 was fairly popular with backwoods LEOs, game wardens and such. Lots of those guys used .32-20 revolvers back in the 1920s and earlier and the carbine version of the 25 was a natural for them; handy and fast. Most of the targets were injured animals, not people, needless to say.
When I grew up in a rural part of northern California, our state game warden carried a Rem 25 rifle in .25-20 in his patrol unit (his sidearm was a Colt Woodsman--apparently didn't have much need for firepower. But he also had a Remington Model 11 riot gun....).

Looks like Max fetched a pretty good price for his carbine. Can't say I'd be interested in selling mine for less

I'm wondering if Remington model 12A wood fits these receivers. I saw a 25 for sale with what appeared to be 12 wood. Anyone have one of each and care to compare?

Dammit! I thought I had most everything I wanted until you showed me this. A 32-20 would be a great match to my Smith and Wesson 32-20 Hand Ejector.

Don't have a 12A but looks very close compared to a 12C pistol grip, but I don't know if they would interchange. It does show just how compact even the rifles they are -

Gene, you went to a bunch of work to post all that, and I for one thank you. It sure looks like the same receiver, lengthened. My mind is always turning on the next build, even though current ones aren't started or done!!! I was toying with the idea of a 218 Bee Improved carbine, or possibly a .17 Bee. I'm thinking the way the 25-20 cartridges don't lay tip to primer it might work fine. All just fun and games to think about. Wouldn't it be fun to have a .17, .22, .25, and .32 all in matching carbine configuration?

Roy, there is a beautiful wild cat called the 20 Killer Bee. It would be a fun little round. Certainly would'nt be pulling that carbine barrel though

Since we are off topic, I thought I'd show this 141. I only have 2 but this one caught my eye a few years ago. Someday I might get around to shooting it. It's in .35 Remington.

The receivers on those 14/141s always remind me of the receiver on a Winchester Model 42; slim and trim. And EXPENSIVE to make!
