For a remington, I'd just use JB weld...
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

A four ounce kit will do at the very least 2. A lot depends about how thick you bed. I would honestly think more like 4 if you are only bedding the recoil lug and tang; Rems being round will take a bit more but it should do two with some left over.
ETA: I am referring to Acraglas Gel, not plain Acraglas.

If we live long enough, we all have regrets. But the ones that nag at us the most are the ones in which we know we had a choice.

It's a trick question. Are those stocks plastic?

Acraglass is the absolute worst bedding epoxy ever created. Very short work time and is messy and runny. If you are going to bed a action in a quality manner use this stuff. It will make your life easier http://www.scorehi.com/epoxy-pillar.htm#Pro-Bed 2000 Now that said for a factory stock...rough up the area to be bedded(lug). get a small torch and hit the rough area for a few seconds to burn off oil , wipe with acetone and use steel bed. That should hold up for the amount of time it takes for you to come to your senses and buy a real stock for the rifle. Those tupperware stocks are too flexible for any non reinforced epoxy .

Devcon steel here. A few seconds with a hair dryer can make it more spreadable if need be.
Now with even more aplomb

Hence the suggestion for Acraglas GEL.

I don't put that much thought in to it, but I've not found an issue with Acraglas gel yet. I do like to spend more time shooting than tinkering, though.
