I just hope that dumbass rez hound doesn't teach him any bad habits. Damn that hound is a moron, all he wants to do is chase deer and squirrels.
[bleep] is a sneaky wanderer, if we are working on something he will just run off for 10 minutes or an hour. Never had a dog do that. Of course we never had a rez hound either. Almost wish I wouldn't have 'rescued' him from the road ditch.
The little heeler is already 2x as smart.

The little heeler is already 2x as smart. Gramps had a pointer that used to do that whilst quail hunting. Run off, vanish for a spell then reappear is what I meant. Anyway, it happened one day and he said something like "phouc it" and we got in the car to drive home. Far back in the dust comes "Sport", chasin' us for all he was worth. Gramps let him follow for about 2 miles of clay road and 3-4 of two lane blacktop. Sport weren't dumb, just hard headed. But not THAT hard headed. He never vanished again and turned into a damn fine pointer by the third season.

My kitchen floor looks like your seats do, now. My backyard faces north and is heavily shaded so it's still thawing and muddy so every time Giblets comes in I get muddy paw prints. And people wonder why I haven't bought new carpet yet.... You guys are probably gonna get the same weather we are (or vice versa). Light rain, 40 degrees and calm here...for now. 30-40+ winds supposedly on their way by noon. I KNEW I shoulda shot yesterday...too busy de-mothballing the motorsickle... Living down in Hermosa beach during the 90's, one of our favorite dive bars was the poop deck, right on the strand.. on a warm spring or summer day, the girls in g-strings roller blading on the strand would use the heavily tinted windows to adjust and check what little clothing they had chosen to wear.
