Send it to me, I 'll make sure you received a good one and send it back after hunting season grin

Thanks Jim!I may put it on a 270......had the 3-9 at the range yesterday and got to do some peeking with it...optically it's very nice, and screwed down to 3X the FOV is really good as well.I think my pre 64 will take it in DD low mounts, which for me is a plus.

As it got dark the reticle was still easy to see.

Not wanting an argument, just a question.....What does the Minox offer that the Zeiss Conquest does not, besides maybe ergo differences?

They're very similar IMO. As Doug said, with the ZA5 you get the wider power range, but more important to me was the smaller ocular on the Minox.

Got mine mounted on a pre 64 270 in low DD mounts.I can't do that with a Conquest(except maybe a H&H action cause the bolt has more play at the end of its' travel).I was zeroed in about 4 shots at 100,but the group was not where I wanted at 300 yards.Maybe one more session required.

Optically, I like it!Resolves really well, and the fast focus is good because I shoot with and without prescription glasses, which requires minor refocusing. One session does not prove much, but both my son and I liked the nice sharp optics and sight picture at 300 yards.

It seemed to track very well......more shooting is in order.

Good report Bob, I'd be interested if you lined up the Minox next to a Leupold in the evening and look at 200 and 300 yard bullet holes. See what power it takes each scope to see those holes. Not that it may matter much but I'd be curious.

I like that fast focus as well for the same reasons.

SU: I have one Leup variable I can run right now but only had a Leup 6x36 on a Roberts with me along with that 270.But will try to get a side by side on things....

I did notice that when I used that fast focus with my glasses, things got sharper in a hurry.

I kept the Minox at 5X,which is a very comfy power, wobble easy to control,as we were both shooting field prone with no bipods, or rear bags. The view down there was easy going and pleasant. The scope has very nice optics to my eyes. I notice it has Schott glass.

Off with the VX3 and on with the Minox, this scope will be hunting next month.

Are the turrets re-settable to zero? I do see a screw.

[color:First off, I liked the Aesthetics of the Minox, I was surprised by this, I thought it would have a boxy look or feel to it.

The eye relief and box were as good as my Leupold VX3.

At 200 yards, at 9x I could easily see 6.5 bullet holes with the Minox.
At 200 yards I could NOT see 6.5 bullet holes with the Leupold set at 9x. I tried every which way to adjust the Leupold to make it be able to see those holes, didn't happen.

At 300 yards I could still see 6.5 bullet holes with the Minox.

One other thing I really like about this Minox are it's adjustments. They are numbered and slashed like a Leupold
M1 dial except they are short and fit under the cap nicely.

Not sure of the come ups yet in the Minox but I figure the scope on a flat shooter could dial out to 800y easily and maybe 900y.

No need to send in your Minox to have a CDS dial adjustment put on in their custom shop.

So what have we here?

A scope that sells for $299.00 BDC reticle. Has a dial already that can be used out to 800y.

The Minox has better glass than my new VX3.

NO brainer, I bought one today.

The Minox may be cheap but it's name is too large and garish for a good rifle. I sent it back.

So what is your point? Bringing up a post from two and half years ago?

Weird.

Good glass on the Minox, but after breaking two of them while shooting I got rid of the third one they sent me.

I've come to the conclusion that Minox quality is just not there.

Just about mirrors my experience with them. Optics are good but they don't have the mechanics down.

I did not bring the Minox topic out. You responded to me in error. You should have responded to Fotis! laugh

Now I find out that others had problems with the Minox mechanics!

I also was bothered by the lack of AO on the 3-15X scope. On the positive side the Minox was sharp and clear and I liked the 15X. The Minox name letters are too large and in my face for me. Sort of like Cabelas putting their name in large letters on too many products.

Perhaps the Meopro would be a good alternative. I wonder how old that original VX-3 was. My new VX-3 has surpassed expectations.

Yea, I expected a scope with that high a power to have AO. blush

However it's the too large for me MINOX name right there where you hold the rifle that bothers me more.

By the way. You made 6 posts last night about drinking booze. You ok?

Based on that, divine how many ounces of whiskey I consumed last night.

By the way, popping in and out of ignore mode to drop your little nuggets is chicken$hit behavior.

Check your spelling above. What does "divine" mean in that context?

Also, using profanity when you cannot argue a point proves that you have lost the argument.

You can do better, you know something about guns.

Have a coffee.
