The optics editor at Shooting Times. I just heard that he died (from Savage Arms on Face Book).

Anyone know any details ?

Seemed to know his stuff. Dang shame. And I believe he was young, too. Peace to his soul and to his family.

Was this the guy from the show that used all AR's for hunting? If so I really liked watching him. Sad to see him go so soon.

Worse than that. Among the emeritus set we lost my old pal Jim Woods, then we lost John Wooters. Then we lost Greg, followed a few weeks later by Aaron Pass, and now James Guthrie. Makes me want to retire.

John Wooters died? I didn't know that. What happened?

Can not believe this! We were good friends in college, just recently got back in touch with him on Face Book and by phone. He was a great guy! Wish I had kept in touch with him more than I did. He was one of the good guys and I am sure that the world and the outdoor industry is a lot worse off without him here! It is a hard blow to us like minded individuals that a person with his personality, intellect, and good common since is gone.

My sincere condolences to his family!

I have very fond memories of John, and he will not be forgotten.

My God! I need to get on here more; only one of those fellows I'd heard about was Mr. Wooters.

Guess I'll use search. Don't forget John Noveske, though he was a gunmaker rather than a scribbler.

Yeah, I just heard about it yesterday, when returning from Argentina. My condolences to his family, and of course all of us who knew him in hunting and shooting.

Read the last sentence of the Smith Model 58 article. It now reads like a premonition.
