Got this old Gamemaster several years ago to play with but got sidetracked, time for other things now. This rifle has an AF barrel code, made in March 1937. The condition is generally very good. The blue on the barrel and action is about 95%, the slide finish is worn some, as you would expect. The wood has the normal hunting bruises, nothing serious. The bore is bright and shiney. I have fired it and it functions perfectly. The rear sight slot is plugged with a Marbles filler. When I got it, there was an elderly Weaver scope on it, but the crosshairs came out after a few shots, so there are now some plugged holes on top of the receiver. To go with the rifle, I have about 90 unfired new brass and an almost new set of RCBS dies. $500.00 for the package. Shipping will have to be in two packages, total will be $40.00. No sales to California, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut. Your FFL must accept shipment from private party. C&R OK. Thanks

What a shame. A collector grade rifle ruined by some dummy who never heard of Stith no-drill mounts.

Killed my second deer with the Mod 141 in 30 Rem back in the early 60's

A Doe walks out of the woods today and says, that is the last time I'm going to do that for Two Bucks.

Yeah, but I figure that scope was maybe put on in the late 40's, early 50's, no thought at all then that it would some day be a collecor. When did they start making Stith No-Gunsmithing mounts anyway?

Rifle would not be a collectors item anyway even without the holes, has been hunted with.

The Stith Mounts go back to the postwar period at least and are the holy grail for Savage 99 folks who have undrilled rifles. I just sold a set of 141 Stiths NIB a few monts ago .... had I only known !

If it's as good as the pictures, it's probably in the top 10% of 141s out there.
If it were a 25, I'd buy it and get the holes fixed. Nice thing about the 14/141 is that spire points work just fine and most are more accurate than lever guns of the same era.

They are a handy, sweet fast handling rifle.

If you're open to offers that take in account the hole fixing costs, please drop me a PM. Thanks.
