I have a disease...a sickness that I can't cure. I bought another ADL 243 this week just because I could make something else out of it!
I enjoy handguns and I really like shotguns,...but I love rifles!

Thought about that too. The mistake I made with my 6x45 was making it to fit me, not the kids. A sporter counter is nothing for us to handle at 23", but quite hefty for a 9 year old girl.
I'm leaning Douglas #1 at 21. Probably 243....
I enjoy handguns and I really like shotguns,...but I love rifles!

And I do have another 223 Montana on order. I'd have mine, they'd have one too. I could chop the stock for the kids. The 62TSX would do all they're gonna do for a few years. By the time the 9 year old needed something bigger, the 6 year old could take ownership of the Choptana...then comes the 2 year old shortly after!

The only way to fix these predicaments is to keep buying more nice rifles.... it's a rough one I know, but it must be done.
And then you can send them to me when your kids develop more sophisticated tastes and want you to build them some Non-Typicals.

Thanks for the heads up holmes. I am pretty well stocked up for whatever I'm shooting now, just need to find some TAC sometime this year.

Spent the day doing chamber casts on a couple of rifles and arranging more hog slaughter. Casting a chamber on an old gun is tedious on the best of days, but never without reward. As example, the .38-55 shoots a bullet of .40 caliber. Geometry at it's best IMO. 19# Highwall not including the 1.5" Unertl 12X. Harry Pope smiles on me.
