I used to shoot a lot of archery tournaments about 25 years ago and was a pretty fair shot. But I haven't picked up a bow for a couple decades and my adult son just recently got interested in bowhunting. He bought a new bow and has been shooting it several times per week and doing "ok" but not shooting great groups just yet. We are the same draw length and I asked to shoot his bow the other day. On the third five shot group I "Robin Hooded" a couple of his arrows just like the picture. It was pure crap luck but he didn't know that and I just looked at him and said "good shooting bow" and walked away. All I heard behind me was a quiet swear word... smile

That is why they make 3-spot targets.

Usually shoot on a five spot target but it never occurred to me that would happen after all these years. I bought him a couple new arrows and learned a new/old lesson. BTW, I am also getting back into the sport again. Shooting that bow brought back a lot of great memories and with a new hunting partner with a ton of energy I am feeling excited about re-entering the bow world. I will say this, a lot has changed since I was shooting my newest latest PSE Mach Flite Four Overdraw bow back in the day!

Thank you we are both excited about the coming fall. On topic, the QAD was the rest I had decided to put on my new bow. My son has the Ripcord and he likes it, but the QAD has that ability to stay up even after a slow let down and I think that might be a nice feature in hunting situations.

For spot and stalk hunting it's the selling point that won me over hands down. That is invaluable at the moment of truth

The QAD isn't the only drop away that remains in full containment upon let down.

Just shot my Z-7 last week, I have one of these on there now: Arizona Archery Enterprises - DOA Arrow Rest, it has full containment on let down.

The DOA is a great drop away and in my opinion the best there is right now.

That's what the local pro shop said, so figured I'd give it a try:

I am a righty too. Easy to tell from misses after having 2 in the 10 ring.

If I were a betting man I would say that shot was your last arrow. After two in the 10 ring you had a brian fart and forgot to do everything you did right on the first and second shot.

Probably, and I don't have these arrows numbered yet to track impacts.

This was a stress release session, more to unwind after a red stapler day in the cube farm....

You have great arrow flight and when you do your job they are going where they are supposed to.

How long have you been shooting the DOA?
