It was back in the early '70s when the epic Age of the Hawt Stew passed into oblivion. They are now either fat, ugly, gay or all of that in spades. Oops, can I say that? Guess I did, oh well.

Subsequently I never accrued much in the way of stew stories since I was on foreign shores makin' mothers out of whores and a few widows. That I missed the opportunity saddens me.

Last time I saw a collection of stews that were chitt hawt was in Miami in 1989. Was meeting someone at a hotel by the airport when the crew of a Lan Chilie flight came down to the lobby for the shuttle. Richard still remembers that covey. Holy Jaysus... Blonds, brunettes, gingers...stunning...

Did you recently get a replacement turret for a Mark AR?

Nah. Doesn't bother my son, doesn't bother me. It's his rig.

I was wondering because I just got into a little 1.5-4x20 model on the cheap and it isn't going on a 223 AR shooting 55 grain bullets. It looks kinda funny mounted on my 700 5R Milspec, but it "handles" great and I'm going to use it as a "point prover" of sorts.

I actually like the looks of a low powered straight tube on a bolt gun. I like straight tubed scopes in general.

I have the original MK AR and the turret is set up the same. MOA on the bottom and the yardage designations on top. I never thought much of it. Works great.

I like the looks of that kind of scope on a trim bolt gun too, but I guess it doesn't fit ingrained notions for a rig with a full length varmint contour barrel, beefy full size stock and so on.

The turret I have has a plain tenth mil set of marks on the bottom edge, but it's pretty small with the 223 yardage scale above deliberately being the main focus.
