This new line of Nikon Prostaff 5 scopes and Monarch 3 scopes has me juiced up for the price and the specs. Nikon has redesigned these for just a few more $, don't know anyone that has purchased one yet, not may reviews, looks like they are geared towards hunters not just target shooters.
Anyone have any first hand knowledge of them yet??
Looks like the Buckmaster got left behind.
Thanks, JOE

I have the Monarch 3 1-4 with German #4 reticle mounted on a 375 Ruger. The optics look great. I haven't shot it but just a few sight in rounds, so can't comment on durability etc. yet.

I've had the pleasure of putting about 30 rounds under the new
MONARCH 3 4-16 x42 BDC scope and I was very impressed. Shooting an AI .308 it is hard to go wrong but the MONARCH 3 let me drop 5 shots at 500 yards into about a 3 inch circle according to my spotter. The scope was impressively clear and the BDC let me truly dial in the ammo to my rifle. Always nice when everything works the way it is supposed to.

OEH-It will vary a lot from model to model. You can check the individual specs here: http://www.nikonhunting.com/en/Nikon-Products/Scopes/index.page#c54-CID-1342536894925-tab-1

I got to try the new PROSTAFF 5'S and MONARCH 3's recently. The new PROSTAFF's are a huge leap forward and the MONARCH's just keep getting better.

I will be putting a new MONARCH 3 4-16x42 BDC on my primary big game rifle as soon as I can afford it.

In your opinion what was the biggest difference between the new Prostaff and Monarch, besides the price?

Went thru their specs and cannot find the mounting tube length dimension anywhere.
