And the only one without a landing strip...or skid-mark...or whatever.
These are my opinions, feel free to disagree.

Ingwe would you use a 7mm 162 gr Hornady on Black Bear?

HOT DOG! Shot the 175 gr Rem at 200 yds and it was not great. One shot center, then one two inches high, then the other two inches left, kinda like a tri-angle. Shot these from the Featherweight 7mm Mauser.

The 162 gr. Horn...going at 7x57 velocities is about as ideal a combination as you could hope for in a rifle. Excellent bullet performance, trajectory, and will kill anything walking around in the lower 48....( killed elks with the load too..and antelope....and....and...)

Figured that at 7mm Mauser that I do not need a "premium" bullet and you wrote yesterday that you killed "tons of game" with the 162 gr Hornady. Thanks Ingwe!

those will leave interesting tan lines. If they wear that to the beach, what's in the lingerie drawer at home?? I like the redhead, but I call dibs on the brunette on the right!

The world hasn't embittered him yet, but I still fear he may but stroke me with it if I were to claim it. And that is one stout piece of steel and wood. Maybe after he gets his .243 he'll be distracted though. I still need to work up a 53 grain tsx load for it. But to do that I'd need to find some 53 tsx's.......

BGG: if you cant get 53 TSXs go ahead and let him use the 55 gr horns...they will kill deer just fine...took awhile to get that in my head but Scenarshooter convinced me and sure as schitt..they work

Super accurate. Now I think I'm overdoing it with such a cannon.

Thre may be something to that mathman..the older I get, and the more stuff I shoot and fish I catch, the more Im convinced we go wayyyy overboard with this 'bigger is better' mentality when it comes to tackle and cartridges.
As I often put it, the .223 with 55 grainers will practically ( and in some cases literally) dismember a groundhog.... the same bullet, placed in the vitals a deer will do more than enough damage to kill it, and kill it quickly...

I'm far more of a handloading hobbyist than a hunter. When I'm in the woods I don't have to get a deer or else, so I pick and choose my shots. Busting brush and toting a 30-06 loaded with monometal bullets so I can shoot a buck in the ass as he bounds away is not my style. I have another load that makes my 700 Classic into the genuine 250-3000 article. An 87 grain Speer and a dose of RL15 gives 3000 fps, very fine accuracy, and moderate pressure. It'll wreck vitals too.
