FYI - The older 94 ae BBs require a different base than do the later models. The holes are drilled lateral and the front base mounts like a saddle over the curvature of the reciever ring. Those mounts are expensive and the screws are extra at $5.00 apiece.

I have 5 boxes of ammunition----waiting for the right gun to come along, always wanted one. Savage 99 would be my Holy Grail gun but wouldn't pass on a Winnie or Marlin!

Savage when I was playing with a Trijicon 56mm scope. It's better with irons.

I just picked up a 94 XTR .375 today, serial # 0137XX. Anyone know the date of manufacture? No push thru safety, no rebounding hammer, as I understand it, since it has the half cock feature.

I have a "Custom" Ruger #1 in .375 WIN With a 28" 1/2 round 1/2 octagon barrel that measures 1" at the muzzle. It's a 10lb. 12oz. rifle without the scope. It has super fancy wood with a shadow line cheek piece and is also equipped with a "Canjar" single set shoe trigger. Sure can load some long cartridges, COAL of 3.0435 with "Hornady" 225gr. spire points. Can't wait to get out and test it.
The barrel is stamped "C. Pingry", anyone ever know or heard of this master?

Just sold my Marlin at a gun show yesterday. Never had the need for it here in Missouri for hunting. Only had it out of the safe 2 times in the 16 years I owned it. 2 people left the show yesterday smiling. I was glad to sell it to someone that really seemed to want it.

best guess 21 is 1980, mine is 0150xx and I bought it new in may of 1981. it is going to be my carry gun on the stage coach into the great beyond.

I have a 1978 top eject BigBore94, and a 1980 Marlin 375. Both are great shooters, and both prefer the Hornady 220-gr bullet.

The BB has super-smooth action and loading, the Marlin doesn't feed as smoothly/positively as the BB.

The Marlin is the more accurate.

Cheers,

Would trade a Win Big Bore 375 with four boxes of ammo for some Finnish Mosins. I am more into the Russian stuff right now.

A Henry Frontier 22mag would get my attention too.
