The hardware... the 1911's in this picture.

The targets. The top target is from my RIA 1911, and the 8 shot group was 2.08" with one call flier. I blew that shot and totally knew it. Distance was 25 feet shot with two hands, no support. The bottom target was shot using a Colt series 70 Government model. Same stance was used, and the group measured 2.77".

The bullets shot pretty well. I forgot my factory ammo on this trip, and i had to cut it short anyways. I plan to get back out and shoot some more. While i was shooting, i was using 2 Chip McCormick shooting star 8 round mags, and my ACT mag. I had three failures to feed in about 75 rounds. All with the RIA.

When i get back out there, i intend to shoot some of my factory ammo to get a comparison against these cast loads. For my load here i used 6 grains of Bullseye, a Winchester LP primer, and mixed brass. The 200 grain SWC bullet was cast by Creeker using straight wheel weights i believe. Sized to .452" i think. I made it through around 80 rounds before i got too hot and needed to head home. It was around 90 degrees in the shade, and i was losing shade in a hurry.

My overall impression of these bullets is good. I would not hesitate to use them in a target shooting situation. The failure to feed was a simple matter of dropping the mag, pulling the slide back and locking it, then tipping the bullet into the chamber and dropping the slide. Took maybe 20 seconds.

I hope he comes out with a RNFP load for the .45 ACP soon. I would be all over those... grin

Thanks again Lynn, and i hope this satisfies any curiosity you had. If not, lemme know and i will see what i can do for you.
