It's hot today. Humid, no breeze, just plain ol' sultry day. Kind of day when young bucks in the South do stupid chitt.

Think I'll take a nap. Pigs and fishes are cheering.

Ho Lee Phouc! What a smoker is has been today! Hay Zeus is walking on steam!

Got to tell a story on myself.

The Mrs. and me decided we want to step back off the coast a bit, or at least have a fall back position in the event of tropical storms. An evacuation, or thought of same makes me cringe, in part because there's this steel box downstairs that might be worth more than the house, and all the associated paraphernalia (that's "stuff" for the ignorant amongst us.)...

So we shop houses and find one. -SHAZAAM!-

We start the move but need some work done on it before taking the big step. Contractor is a little busy, time keeps ticking. -LEFT JAB!

Finally things start to move forward....and dear ol' mom decides she's feeble enough to head for the ALF, meaning she is too feeble to live with us and the house ain't ready anyway and she can't climb the steps in our present abode. -CROTCH KICK!-

We got about 2 years worth of rolling projects with the new/old place to bring it up to speed, Most of it while we are in place. -STORMS MAY BE HEADED THIS WAY-

I got pegged as lead idiot to try to harness up two counties, two state agencies and some cheer leaders to put together a major grant application of a water supply project. -RIGHT HOOK!-

The question I have for the sedentary introspective leisure kings here is this: Any of you know a damn thing about underground rifle range design and system integration? I'm talking materials, design, ventilation, sound mitigation and such. And BTW, how much steel and of what type alloy set at what angle makes for a durable backstop for cartridges up to and including the .416 Rigby with monolithic solids? And will 24" PVC be adequate for the shooting tunnel over a 100 yard span? It will be about 3' or so underground.

What say you?

PTO

PS: Where's the girlie pics anyway?

1/2" plate, 45 degree angle (top toward shooter) 3' of sand behind rail road ties at bottom for bullet trap.

That is for 100 yds.

Way to make a (re) entrance, Paul!

You've been missed (well, your pics anyway)...

It ain't what you don't know that makes you an idiot...it's what you know for certain, that just ain't so...
