elkhunternm, that would be a good plan, but we are away right now.. it would be fun to visit this old guy who seems so cranky!!! Bet if we were there face to face he would be o.k. Been thinking about it,we need a tranquilizer pill the size of his thumb,in case that don't work,a sledgehammer. The sledgehammer is to smash his other toe, then he'll forget about his infected toe. Yup,it would be fun visiting with Ingwe, but right now I'd rather take on a herd of pissed off elephants, cape buffalo rather than Ingwe.

Not a clue...Im kinda beginning to barrel shop myself. I only have one non-factory barrel and its a Hart...phenomenal, but expensive.
Tell me what you learn in your shopping and I may put it to use!

Well,I can tell you what I'm looking for. My other .22-6mm weighs 10+ lbs and I want a lighter coyote calling rifle. Looked at Midway USA and they have Shilen and Green Mountain barrels. Been looking at either a #2 or #3 contour to keep it light as possible. The Shilen SS are going for $250 and the Chrome Moly are $180,the Green Mountain is $93. Right now looking at the Shilen #2 contour SS 1-12" .22 cal CF with the finished length will be 24". According to Midway these will be "In Stock" in mid-September. Looked at Brownells they had nothing that I wanted. Sinclair International had only Benchrest barrels. Unless I go to a barrel company that's where I am at right now. Does this help or make it more confusing.

elkhunternm, you didn't ask, but I have had excellent luck with Douglas in W.Va. I have used others, I have a Pac Nor that is excellent.. But I usually call Douglas and visit with the tech.. They have stuff that is available not shown in places like Brownell's.. In my dealings with them, (I have probably bought a dozen barrels) when they tell me how long it will take to ship, it has never been longer, usually a bit shorter..

I looked at Douglas and their price sheet is dated 2009. What are they going for now and how long do they take to ship a barrel?
Oh and thanks for the suggestion WyoCoyoteHunter.

elkhunternm, I just bought an air ga. crome-moly earlier this summer.. It was .30 cal. 1-10 so common.. I want to say it was $250-300 but I did have some extra stuff done to it.. I think it took 3 wks to get it to my place.. Sorry, I can't be more specific, but we are on a trip, and I don't have any info with.. If you are interested I would give them a call Mon. You can call at 6 a.m. and they should be open.. I usually call and ask for tech. support.. Sorry I can be of more help.. I have also had a couple Shaw.. They are less expensive, I am not sure about them building a hot .22-6mm.. I think I had a .222 and .25-35 made with them..

Thanks Wyo. I looked at Douglas website again and picked their #2 contour as the one I would be interested in. The 3 wks delivery time is quick and if I get the Douglas,it'll be the XX Premium finished turned barrel. Thanks again WCH.
