Already have a Savage 116 in a 7mm Mag........but, now you mention it, maybe I'll sell/trade it to get a Tikka T3!
Always like to help a guy out. I'd suggest you consider WAITING till after this deer season then you'd have plenty of time to get familiar with the NEW-UN. Whenever you do, I think it's a 'win-win' for you.

Koodos to Sako....a lot of guys laughed at me 15 yrs ago...
Bought my first 595 Tikka in '98
7-08 ss/syn...still in the safe...
I'm with 'ya, except mine was a 7Mag, then I added 2 T3's a few years later. Shot them hundreds of times, they work like a charm, and shoot lights out. You wouldn't be interested in selling that 595 7-08 would you?
It is irrelevant what you think. What matters is the TRUTH.

Tikka 595 7-08 that I just painted the stock. Owned by a buddy of mine. And my stainless T3 25-06 I painted the same day.

Actually I just bought the 25-06 and haven't shot it yet. I have some Warne rings on the way that I bought here in the classifieds. I would probably use the factory rings if they were black, I'm just not wild about stainless rings and a black scope.
My other Tikka is a T3 Superlight 22-250 that came with Talley lightweights. Why does everyone hate the factory Tikka rings? I don't see there being a problem in a light kicking rifle like a 25-06.

Tate -
There ain't a problem with the TIKKA rings. I've been using them since 2003 when I bought the rifle.
Seriously, I did not know anything about them, so I just tried them.
They STILL work!

I took my new LSS 300 Remington out this morning working up elk loads. It's doing OK. More than adequate, but it has taken a little work. Then I broke out the T3 7 Mag. It has been un friggin real. I started out with it in Nov 2011 shooting 140gr Sierras into nice 1/2 MOA groups. Then on to 150gr Ballistic tips. I didn't think it could get any better than that. Those BT shoot VERY well. I posted on the Fire a while back the first go around with 160gr Speer Hot Core spitzers. One nice clean little hole @ 100 yds! Now I was pretty well sure the 160 must be the sweet spot with this Tikka. But in the interest of elk hunting,(and having a box of 175gr Hornady),I loaded up a half a box over some Retumbo and had at it. First I fired one of my trusty 160s at 100 yds to warm the pipe so to speak. Cold bore right on the money. Usual and customary. Then I ran 3 of the new 175gr loadings into the same bullseye. A black magic marker circle about 1 1/2" in dia. I couldn't make out any holes with the lighting early this morning, but didn't see any wide fliers on the cardboard either. Packed her up and headed out to pull the target. I gotta tell ya. If there is a problem with these Finish imports it sure isn't their accuracy. 3 175gr Hornadys touching each other @ 100yds about 3/4" above the cold bore 160gr. I could load up a box of each,150,160,and 175gr, dump them into a paper bag,and go hunting. They all print within an inch of each other vertically, and dead on left and right. I'm having a tough time not taking it elk hunting. Light, handy, and shoots like crazy. Rifle, scope and rings all for less than most of the "better" rifles on the market. Just aint right.

The worst things about Tikkas.... They can positively embarrass customs costing hundreds more... (Great if you haven't shelled out for said custom, not so great if your ego is riding on same said custom) If they ever offer their .243 and .22-250's in fast twists they'll be joining my SL's in .223 and .308
It ain't what you don't know that makes you an idiot...it's what you know for certain, that just ain't so...

I'm still trying them!! My T3 270 had a Bushnell 3200 4-12 slip in the factory rings first or second trip to the range. Today my rifle stuck 130 ABs &130 interlocks in the same spot.

M H - I don't know what to tell you. I mounted mine in 03, loaded, grouped, graphed, sighted in, hunted now 10 seasons, check sight in each yr., used WW factory loads, switched back to my hand loads, checked sight in Thurs or Fri. this past week. .....no slipping, no re-adjusting. I have had scopes to slip in other rings too, especially hard kickers like 8Mag.
