I was looking at a digital SLR, a Nikkon. I read the lenses from my N-65 35mm would work on the digital but the digital lenses distorted the edges if I tried to use them on my N-65.
Why?

Sitka just walked in the room, I asked him your question. I'm typing as he explains ,here goes, I'll try to keep up, "Because they are being focused for the smaller sensor of the digital. The larger film edges would be receiving light, a digital sensor would be uninterested in, so little interest is paid to image quality outside the digital sensor's range.

"The relationship in size is based on the square root of two. Which is why the standard SLR lens used on a digital would have an apparent 1.4X increase in focal length."
