It's a pre model 18....the model number isn't designated inside the frame. Dad thinks it was made in 53 or 54? Either way it's in excellent condition. This ones a keeper! I'll some research and see what I can find. I need to find a sight that dates S&W serial numbers. I enjoy handguns and I really like shotguns,...but I love rifles!
