I have a ton of 357 mag reloads that were my dad's and I am looking to shoot them up since I can't really sell them. Any suggestions on a decent lever action rifle?? Not really looking to hunt with this.

Thanks

Marlin 1894 is Hands Down the best as far as Quaility & Accuracy. Not cheap, though, by any means. Winchester 94 Ttrappers in .357 are of good Quaility and Reliablity, but over -priced due to being discontinued several years ago.

The Rossi Carbines my friends shoot seem to work pretty well, although some of them could benefit greatly from an action job by a good Gunsmith.
They will Definately be the cheapest way to go, starting at around $399.

Personally, I'd rather spend a little more & get a Marlin or Winchester. Especially if you plan on passing it down to your kids or grandchildren. JMHO

I have an 1873 Winchester repro by Uberti sold as a Beretta Renegade. I paid $700 for it in .38spl/.357mag. It is well made, beautiful, and stupid fun to shoot. Two of my friends shot it and went out and bought their own. The Uberti has case hardening and is $1,000. The Beretta is Blue and is otherwise identical for $300 less!. Actually, it has a short stroke linkage included, which I like.

Quality and Marlin no longer go hand in hand. I'd get the Rossi, loose the safety for the peep sight that replaces it and get is slicked up.

Look around for a pre rem Marlin...expect min $750 price

I Have a couple '92 Rossi's in 45 Colt..along with several '94

Marlins in 357 & 44....I prefer the 'JM' Marlins

The '92 Rossi in 45 Colt will dump a coyote....

i have a 1981 marlin and dad has a late 90's (i think) winchester 94ae with big ugly safety. both have 18"-ish barrels. i love them both and have actually killed a deer with dad's winchester. both are about the same as far as accuracy. i have learned that the levers like to be worked hard and fast, with the gun upright. anything less, and both of our's will jam.

i would rather have a 92 than a winchester 94 though. shorter action i understand. made for pistol cartridges...

bought another marlin a while back and ended up selling it when i realised i didnt need two. it was pretty rough, and it brought $850 so the pre safeties are definately going up. worked good, shot great, just ugly.

tikkanut, that is a beautiful backdrop ya got there! i am so jealous of you guys out in God's country!

i would also love a 92 or marlin in 45!!
