No! Reminds me of the Southern Church socials growing up. Everytime there must have been 5 kinds of apple salad along with jello something or the other. Apples and mayo never did make much sense to me.
Just give me a green apple and some salt. :-)

Sort of why I asked. Apples, and marshmallows, don't strike me as the best way to use good apples. I may try the apple slices with some nuts, and olive oil. and some type spice. Apples are in abundance.

I'll second that J-cubed. You will...? Sure. Cool Whip is not Miracle Whip. Besides, it will hold better in an ice chest.

cut up apples, mixed in with raisins and lots of grated carrots. Add some Duke's Mayonaise, and you have a darn good salad.

It's my moms recipe and I didn't eat it as a kid. Something about fruit with snickers didn't do it for me. But once I tried it I was regretting it I didn't try it earlier. It's good!

It's a "copy cat" of a local italian resturant chain recipe but turns out quite tasty....
Apple Gorgonzola Salad Ingredients
8 ounces of Romaine lettuce, chopped 1 Granny Smith apple, chopped 2 tablespoons of Gorgonzola Cheese, crumbles 2 ounces of walnuts, chopped 1/4 cup of cranberries, dried 1/2 cup of Italian vinaigrette Vinaigrette:
1/3 cup of white wine vinegar 3/4 cup of olive oil 1 teaspoon of salt 3/4 teaspoon of oregano 1/2 teaspoon of dry mustard 1/8 cup of red onion, finely chopped 1 1/2 teaspoon if garlic, chopped A pinch of black pepper
Directions
Wash and dry the lettuce in a colander. Chop the lettuce into 1 inch thick slices. Slice off 2 sides on an apple along the side of the core. Cut long slices for garnish. Remove the core and dice the rest of the apple. Mix all the ingredients for the dressing in a small bowl. Pour over the lettuce. Add the apples, walnuts, cranberries and cheese. Toss well. Place and garnish with remaining sliced apples.
