Is anyone using Talley Lightweights on their 10/22. I can't find much on the web. I'd figure they would be more popular. I'm thinking of switching to the lightweights on my carbine. Pictures would be appreciated (particularly of the lows).

I have a set of Talley lows mounting a Leupold M8 4x28 compact on one of my 10/22's. They work, but I don't think they are ideal. They are a little lighter than most mount/scope options, but the wide scope rings and the fixed screw hole locations limit your scope mounting options. I had to turn both rings facing the same direction to mount the compact scope tube and you can see that even the low Talley's mount the scope fairly high (easily clearing the rear sight.)

I had a Power Custom receiver mounted rail with Leupold QRW low rings on this rifle before switching to the Talley's and that provided a lot more mounting flexibility as well as lowering the scope closer to the bore axis. Before buying the Talley's I also considered the DNZ one piece scope mount and decided to go with the Talley's because the two piece design allowed me more flexibility in mounting the scope. I still believe that might be true, but the DNZ scope rings are thinner so they might allow just as much mounting flexibility with similar weight savings. For what it is worth, I will be sticking to the Volquartsen and Power Custom rails on my 10/22's from now on.

The pics below aren't the greatest, but they should give you some idea of what they look like mounted.

Thank you. Exactly what I was wanting to see. I think I can find something a little lower.

I've used them on my two previous builds and I plan to use them on the next as well.

I'd prefer something a little lower, but since I'm collecting parts to build for weight, I'll take a little higher than necessary over a little heavier than necessary.
