I am..........disturbed.

A good principle to guide me through life: “This is all I have come to expect, standard lackluster performance. Trust nothing, believe no one and realize it will only get worse…”

If you used come-ups, you wouldn't have to aim high. Just hold on hair and shoot. It's the windage that's a bish.

So I thought I'd ask the "High Liners" first. Anybody have a good load for a 44 mag rifle/revolver combo. I have some fairly warm loads for the revolver but in the Marlin 1894 stainless, best I could get was a 12" group at 100 yards. I was shooting 240 gr. XTP's. Can't remember what powder charge I used but I am open for suggestions.
I'd rather die in a BAD gunfight than a GOOD nursing home.

Bullet is .422" in diameter and is double wrapped with 9# onion skin. If your rifle has something close to a 20" twist it should run MOA at 100, assuming you can hit the broad side of a barn whilst standing inside. I'm using a bolt gun with regular rifling, dunno if this will run in a microgroove barrel. Bullets are swagged but could run just as well if cast I suppose, source in Montana Precision Swagging. I'm not a high liner. I don't think they know anything about higer callings such as paper patch. At least one of them is expert on killing leopards with a .38 Spcl.

Thanks BGG, I'm going to work up some loads in the next few days and will let you know they worked. That 270 is a big buncha booolit, I was thinking of going the other way like to a 220 or so.
Thanks, W.Bill
