Thinking of sending a WSM short action to Pac Nor and having them screw on a 350 WSM. Got to looking for dies first and can't find any. Any idea where I could locate a set.

Look into a 358 Sambar. I think it's the name of the 350 WSM. Bryce Towsley may have gotten to it 1st.

Bryce Towsley, isn't he the guy who thinks you need a .300 RUM for whitetail does? I seem to recall him mentioning that in an article in the American Rifleman...... I think it was the last time I read anything by him, come to think of it. It was good for a laugh.

when I had mine made, Redding had dies in stock. they call them 35/300 WSM dies and have part # 80705 on them. they were expensive, though.

I think he conjured up the .358 UMT (Ultra Mag Towsley). I don't know if he built anything on the WSM case or not.

Well this is interesting,I e-mailed Redding asking about the 35-300WSM,35 Sambar and the 350WSM. The response was we do not make this and but could if I supplied reamer drawings.

I'm not sure if I will still go this way, just picked up a donor 7 rem mag. Might just make up a 375 Ruger now.

click

Redding catalog PDF

and scroll to page 18 (the PDF calls it page 20, but the page is labeled 18 on the bottom. I assume this is because the cover pages are assigned a number)

but if you do decide to make one, a Winchester or Kimber WSM will give you ~3.1" mag length. I had my M70 re-bored and a new throat/neck cut.

I was wrong, other guy was right....UMT. But I do still think it's more commonly called the 358 Sambar for the WSM case. Don't know who lit the fuse first though

The best of both world, .35-375 Ruger! Or even a .358 Norma.

This may have been done first in Australia, or at least early on, and thus named after their Sambar deer.

I think BT is quite a good and witty scribe and I sense he works hard at his trade.

I think BT has a strange sense of humor. I stopped reading him when he repeated the crap about a .358 winchester being a brush range caliber only. So I guess when you expand the 308 case you automatically ruin the long range accuracy, or the power???????

Toad, that is a great looking rifle buddy.

What is the scope on top of it? 4X Leupold?
