I'm pretty sure I've bought Savage action screws at the hardware store. Winchester actions screws- little chance, but I think Savage are 1/4 28 IIRC. They may need to be shortened a little.

Thanks for all the help. Tried to order from Boyd but their $16.90 for shipping is a little steep for 4 screws.
I've checked my local hardware stores and 1/4-28's

Midway has them. Boyd's are sized for their stock, and may not be right.
They are button head, which is why you can't find them. Even Fastenal didn't have them when I went there.
